Patio culinario summer exhibition
Born in Dominican Republic, based in New York, Karla graduated from advertisement and works in photography, illustration and graphic design. Interested in several fields of visual communications, and passionate about arts, she started photography right before moving to New York as a way of meeting people capturing their essence. "Inspired by my partner, who I met a few years ago and works as a photographer, after he shot me for the first time I started feeling that there's nothing more beautiful than transparency".
Her work shows spontaneousness and the raw beauty. With almost no edit and using both digital and 35mm cameras she captures the day to day life and woman in the most simple way.
"Nothing is planned, it just happens in the moment and that's the most exciting part. It's an adventure".
